why CfMC_host?

CfMC began offering this ASP service in 2006 in direct response to the requests of our lease clients. Some were looking to shave costs, others to increase their product breadth, or to test the Web survey waters before investing in the necessary infrastructure.

In fact, many leading researchers have utilized CfMC's hosting facilities for several years via the Service Bureau. The Bureau provides several services in addition to hosting - like survey programming, online reporting, data entry, and online sample procurement.

CfMC maintains a bank of Linux servers in both San Francisco and London with redundancy and backup capabilities.

For clients conducting large amounts of webSurvent web surveys via CfMC_host, we will provide a private server to be maintained by CfMC. Please contact us for a tailored hosting solution.

 

getting online with CfMC_host

Research operations utilize CfMC_host for a variety of reasons - to gain flexibility, take advantage of wide bandwidth, or try out Web collection before an investment.

Here are the three steps to getting online with CfMC_host.

step one - consider survey and hardware requirements

CfMC_host options are as flexible as your operation should be.

CfMC will build and maintain dedicated servers for clients with extensive survey needs. After six months of CfMC_host service on a dedicated server, you own that machine.

CfMC flexibility lives on with our pricing schedule that enables as many completes as you need with no per-complete charge (dedicated server service only).

For clients with more limited survey requirements (one-off studies, few studies/year), CfMC offers the use of an existing CfMC server.

step two - evaluate service needs

CfMC_host is a service offered to CATI researchers and those conducting online self-guided surveys (Web surveys). You provide the survey, CfMC manages the back-end data collection operations.

Do you plan on programming and managing surveys in-house? Users of webSurvent, or webCATI will find transitioning to CfMC_host relatively easy. Survent users will need basic training to transition to webCATI and HTML skills.

CfMC has these survey tools to assist in the development and deployment of online surveys (at no charge to hosting clients).

Researchers who need assistance programming surveys (especially more complex surveys) and managing sample as well as hosting should contact our Service Bureau for their transitions services.

step three - enlist with CfMC

CfMC's industry-leading data collection software (Survent for webCATI) enables you to collect data on central servers from anywhere in the world. Three to five days of CfMC training is required for new clients.

However, existing CfMC users can utilize CfMC_host with little more than a couple of hours training.
