Subscribers to this clients-only spec-talk email distribution list discuss issues, ask questions, and contribute suggestions to the CfMC user community.
CfMC uses this list to alert users of releases, updates, and other support/development-related announcements. So each client is required to have at least one representative on spec-talk.
subscribing to spec-talk
To subscribe to the list send an e-mail message to spec-talk@cfmc.com with the subject line containing only the command SUBSCRIBE and in the body of the message include your full name and company name.
As soon as the list moderators receive your request, they will verify your status, then add your e-mail address and name to the list of subscribers. Once your name has been added to the list of subscribers you will receive a confirmation message.

Once your subscription has been verified, sending a message to spec-talk will cause that message to be sent to all subscribers to the list. The e-mail address you used to subscribe is the only address the system will allow to participate in the discussions.
Each person at a company wishing to send and receive spec-talk messages must subscribe separately and no individual should subscribe with more than one e-mail address.
To verify if you are a member of the spec-talk list you can send a message to spec-talk with the subject VALIDATE. You will receive an e-mail message letting you know about your membership status based on the from e-mail address.
spec-talk message formats
There are two formats for receiving spec-talk messages:
- the standard mode in which you receive every message as it is sent;
- digest mode in which you only get a single weekly digest of all messages. Digests, containing the previous week's messages, are sent out each Sunday evening to digest mode subscribers.
To switch to DIGEST mode, send a message to spec-talk with the words SUBSCRIBE DIGEST in the subject line.
Sending an e-mail to spec-talk with the subject HELP will cause a response to be sent to you with instructions for each of the commands that are recognized by the list server software.

Spec-talk™ is a moderated discussion list. As such, we ask that list subscribers adhere to our guidelines for spec-talk participation. The range of topics addressed via spec-talk should be limited to issues of importance to CfMC users or the marketing research industry.
Please be courteous and respectful of others on the list. Anyone who becomes abusive will be removed immediately.
Posting job opportunities or any type of recruiting should not be done on spec-talk. Any soliciting of business (other than seeking a source for overflow CfMC work), is strictly forbidden.
Members of the CfMC Support team monitor discussions for to ensure correct information and solutions. However, CfMC does not accept liability for the information shared on spec-talk by its clients.
unsubscribing to CfMC lists
Unsubscribe to any list by sending an e-mail to the list with "unsubscribe" in the subject. You can send an e-mail to any list that you are a member of with "help" in the subject and you will get more information about what commands are available for that list.
